IDC 2022 in NYC, JUNE 13 - JUNE 15
IDC 2022 in vibrant New York City
Major topic: Let’s talk Sustainability
Change is coming. We are on the cusp of an impactful new era which will reshape the way we live, work and do business. In the wake of the pandemic, a growing consensus has emerged that the current system is failing people and planet. Governments and businesses make ambitious climate and emission pledges, with many in a race to find sustainable solutions that also offer a viable environmental, social and economic future.
In the insurance industry, and in the wider financial and business communities, the concept of sustainability is evolving. The ecological concerns and the Sustainability Development Goals defined by the United Nations have led to the fact that more and more clients, regulators as well as investors are calling for transparent sustainability reporting. Businesses now, cannot simply talk about solutions, they must prove action. And for those who have made this a strategic priority, the climate crisis has created massive opportunities resulting in investment flowing into innovative areas such as green technology, products and services.
More directly, insurers are now viewing sustainability not just from the perspective of how environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues impact insurance and investment portfolios, but also how insurance and investment portfolios impact the environment and society.
The step towards sustainability has a decisive impact on corporate strategies, bearing new risks but also unlocking new opportunities for our industry and our businesses.
The IDC 2022 will foster an international debate on this transformation topic, building a platform for sharing insights and knowledge.
